the caravan at church farm, pagham
_In July 2006, we bought a caravan at Church Farm, Pagham. I'm not how sure quite how it happened, but I'm actually rather happy about it: I spent many of my childhood holidays on this site, not 30 feet from where our van is situated and have nothing but fond memories of the times I spent here with family and friends.
Modern static caravans are very different beasts though - double glazing, central-heating, en-suite bathrooms, microwaves, digital TVs, DVD Players.... And Church Farm is a very different place too: 20 years ago the entertainment was a bar and some slot machines - now there are indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, bowling greens, a 9-hole golf course and lots of dedicated activities for children. It's still right next to a beautiful nature-reserve though, great for walks, wildlife and generally getting away from the smoke. The beach at Pagham is a 20 minute walk away, with plenty of others to choose from along the coast.
But this site isn't here so I can witter on about childhood memories. Along with the van, we've picked up an annual bill for rent, rates, insurance, power, maintenance... it's of 'Eeeeeek!' proportions and I don't really relish finding the money for it. The reality is that we have to let the van for some of the year, probably during the school holiday periods. Owner's Exclusive offer to do this on a commercial basis, but I'd rather keep it to friends and family - better for us and for you: We know who's using it and you get a much better deal than you would through Haven Holidays. So, the interwebby stuff is about giving you an idea of what's in the van, what the site's about and why you might want to come and stay here.
We do let to 'strangers' (but not strange ones) - mail and convince us you're normal, well-behaved, clean, tidy and upstanding citizens and you're in with a chance. If you have eleven children or multiple pets...want to hold a stag / hen / swinger's party... have convictions for vandalism/theft/graffiti, lapsed or otherwise, well... you can still mail, but just for our entertainment. Sorry, but it's a jolly nice van, it cost us a lot of money, we've invested a lot in equipping it far better than any you'll get from Haven Holidays and we reserve the right to be picky about who gets to use it.
